THE CHALLENGE
The Family Check-Up® (FCU) model is an adaptive, collaborative, strength-based framework that promotes positive functioning and family wellbeing while preventing problem behaviors and mental health concerns. With the growing nationwide adoption of the FCU program, it became clear that providers—counselors, educators, and family support specialists—needed a streamlined way to learn how to guide parents through the process of accessing and using the app, as well as how to best utilize the app’s administrative features.
THE PROCESS
To bring this project to life, we collaborated closely with the Family Check-Up® team to review scripts and revise as needed to match real provider scenarios.
We developed a custom, self-paced training platform designed with providers in mind. We leveraged Vyond’s AI-assisted voice and character tools for engaging animations and content delivery, as well as the overall Vyond platform, to accelerate video creation, helping us maintain consistency and clarity across all modules. Interactive lessons and walkthroughs were built to ensure providers could apply what they learned immediately within the FCU app.
INTERACTIVITY
Users have a chance to reflect on and check their learning. In order to ensure that users complete the course with the tools necessary to implement FCU users complete brief quizzes and interactives at the end of each module.
ANIMATED VIDEO GUIDES
Created using Vyond, these short, approachable videos bring instructions and examples to life, increasing comprehension and engagement. AI-assisted voice and character animation tools in Vyond helped streamline the production process, allowing us to quickly produce high-quality visual content tailored to each training topic.
HANDS-ON WALKTHROUGH
Providers can explore app functionality step-by-step, including how to assist parents with signing up and how to manage administrative tasks on the back end.
PROGRESS TRACKING & CERTIFICATES
Providers can track their progress and return at any time to review the course. Once the training is complete, providers can download their personalized Certificate of Achievement.
THE RESULTS
Providers now have a flexible, easy-to-use learning hub that empowers them to confidently introduce the Family Check-Up app to parents and manage app settings behind the scenes.
Early feedback shows: users find the training enjoyable and easy to understand. From dashboard to certificate of completion, every aspect of the experience is clear, focused, and engaging. The FCU parent program and training app continue to be a huge success in our communities!
